Well, since it's been necroposted, I get to see the topic. I like the idea for the vnc/RPi part. I think I might try that out if I ever get spare time. (So in about 30 years it seems right now. Notice how no one has any prizm OS info?)
I've got parts on order (should be here Tuesday) to breadboard an arduino gCn Shield with 4 ports. After I make sure that it's working, I was going to do a PCB for that, adding an XBee module if there's any interest.

However, I'm a hardware guy, and will be unable to tweak the existing gCn software to support an XBee. Is there someone who would be interested in collaborating on that?

I'd be happy to help, especially since I need to fix up the software for a few direct USB issues in preparation for releasing Doors CS 7.2.
