I just got Macromedia Flash 8 to mess with some sprite projects so I am pretty new to the program, never bothered to mess with it before. I have made two short animations of the same character and would like to combine them both together to make one whole animation. Anyone know how I would go about doing so? Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the year 2011!
6 years in the future Macromedia has been bought out by Adobe, the Flash editing suite has now moved on to CS 5, and we have this awesome site called "The Google" which tells you everything you need to know! Check it out: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=merge+two+flash+animations+using+flash+8

Thanks for being a douche about it guy. I had already searched for it in google and looked for tutorials on youtube with no results. My friend told me about this site and said they may know about it. I was not told admins on here such as yourself would be dicks.
As far as I can tell, not ever touching Flash at all, this should be all you need to do: http://www.actionscript.org/forums/showthread.php3?t=173712 Sorry I can't be of much more help.

And adobe completely killed it with CS3 onward. I've never seen a more convoluted program in my life. I don't blame him for sticking with the older format.

Sorry your first experience was like that. He isn't an administrator of the site, merely a mod of a couple of sub forums. Myself, KermMartian, merthsoft, elfprince and rivereye are all admins, and we have several global moderators that are nothing like that.
Hopefully one of us can help you find what you are looking for. I sadly have no knowledge where flash is concerned.

Ultimate Dev'r is not an administrator and does not speak for the site. As tifreak8x said, the site staff are listed in the About section, and feel free to contact any of us if you feel a member is being abusive. We try to follow a fairly free-speech policy here except in cases of offensive images, subject material, and administrative discretion, but I do apologize for UltDev's douchiness.
I'm afraid that I don't personally know the answer to your question, but we do indeed have quite a few people who play around with Flash, so I'll see if I can get them to take a look at this topic.
Thank you guys. I very much appreciate it. Normally I only go on forums as a last resort for the very reason that happened earlier. I will be sure to check that out Player1537 and also to DShiznit, that is the reason I am running such an old flash version, that and it was free.
Don't worry, I think Ultimate Dev'r was just trying to pull his normal "The Google" joke on you don't take it too seriously. Usually, admins wouldn't do that though, especially here -- they're actually quite helpful, as I think you will find (or rather, just found )
Unless that admin(or is he just mod?) is Kllrnoj. He's kind of a d!ck, but he has encyclopedic knowledge of everything and will have no qualms educating you in the most blunt way possible.
Kllrnohj is a regular user.
As far as what version of stuff you use, if you're doing any programing, you can use FlashDevelop, which is a free substitute for Flex/Flash Builder.
