woah, I do not have my calc atm, but judging by that screenshot, this looks pretty freaking awesome. I like the greyscale + very good framerate

Thanks! The framerate also was something I was worrying about, but it turns out that it is exactly right, not too fast not to slow
. Still, with the floating scores and the text messages still to do, it will probably get a little slower at times. Or were you just talking about the grayscale?

Yeah, I find that if someone makes it to fast, there is to much blurr, and that really hurts my head. I really mean it, serious migraines
I thought I remembered Jim E's grayscale package having a way to tune the grayscale timing, no? At any rate, very nice. And that solution detection algorithm is more or less how I would have thought about approaching it as well, I think; nice job, and nice job making it run in realtime!
That looks great! Nice job with all the cascade animations, they really add a nice feel to the game.

I think it did have a way to tune the screen refresh rate on the SE's using some crystal timers? But now I think I actually took the code from Diederik Kingma's gray scale package and replaced some of it with Jim E's code and parts with my own.
I have to look into how Jim does the timing on the different models and understand how it works before I would want to add it to my game.

Agreed, it makes things much more fluid than just switching from frame to frame.
Thank you, ztrumpet, these comments give me the confidence to keep working on it.
I just uploaded the updated version, with in-game contrast changing and a teacher key.

You mean if the sprites of the numbers could be changed into something else? Of course I could change them, but that would ruin the name, so I won't. But you'll get used to the numbers after a while.

Okay, but how can you judge how it will look on your calc from a screenshot of an emulator?
touche sir, touche
Pff... I don't know if it's just my TI-83+ and its faulty LCD, but it keeps locking up and clearing RAM, but on the TI-84+ it works fine...
Does anyone else have the same problem on their 83+?

Are you referencing other RAM pages? Specifically the ones that are non-existent on some ti 84+se and all ti 83+ calcs?

I dunno, I think it could still work out.

Possibly. I'll try to have a look at it tomorrow. I just hope it doesn't require sifting through every line.
I probably won't continue adding features before I correct the error, though.
About the sprites: I am positive that I could come up with a sprite sheet with symbols that are easier to tell apart, but I don't feel like abandoning the numbers. It's not called BeNUMBERed for nothing...
Oh wow, I'm due for a new batch of programs to throw on my TI, and I'll definitely test drive this. But from what I can see, those graphics are sick. Rep. I think a 24-bit score is kind of an awkward value to handle. Seems like more trouble than it's worth, so I'd scale that down. If you're dead-set on it though, I would imagine you could upgrade to 32-bits without going through any additional trouble. Correct me if I'm wrong.
