Even though you didn't win the POTY, you can't let that get you down. Seriously. You have been a force in the calculator community for a decade. Just because you didn't get recognition now doesn't mean a thing. You are still the most prolific author on ticalc.org and you have a forum on your back whose got your back. So, chin up, man. I hate seeing you down like this. I'm sure the other calc users would agree with me on all fronts. Also, you must remember: You are not a worthless coder. Most of DCS's advanced functions need to be accessed via ASM. That's just a tad more work than the average lazy calc programmer would like to do. It's over our heads, mang! Very Happy

So, come on. Smile. Cheer up. Move on. And KICK ARSE in the next one! Cool
I agree Kerm, it is not in any way your or DCS's fault. Next year you will win, I am sure Smile
Yup, Kerm, you're an awesome coder. Without you, the world would not have the best shell ever to grace the calc community. Without you, I would not have played as many games before I knew a calc community ever existed. Without you, I wouldn't be writing this. Without you, there would be no Cemetech. Without you, there wouldn't be Doors Libs, which will be what I use to make my Hybrid Basic programs. Without you, I wouldn't have as much help with code. Kerm, if you ask me, you're a great coder. Thanks for the best shell ever. Smile
Ztrumpet, Qazz, Raylin, thanks guys, I really appreciate it. Smile I needed your kind words, so thanks for the support.
There are SO MANY GREAT programs out there that were not recognized with prizes and contests. Doors is one of them, it's a great program, a fantastic, very useful and marvellous program. From users to programmers, but mainly programmers you can find lots of uses in it. From Doors Libraries to CalcNet, to Mobile Tunes, there are fantastic features that make Doors the most opened application in many calculators and mine too!

You shouldn't blame yourself not having one this POTY Award, because I'm sure you had a program that definitely could win Very Happy

Don't give up on coding, go ahead to your next program and amazes us... ... once again!
Yeah, it was just a publicity contest between the two, which had the most people knowing about it. Axe WAS an omni project, so it is probably just more widely known because of the commercialism behind it. When Axe parser gets all of the features DCS has, that is when I will say it is better. And lemmi tell you, I dont think I will say Axe is better in a million years

Yes, Axe is more famous at Omnimaga, which has more members, that's the reason why it got more votes, but it is also a great program, just not sure if as useful as doors Smile
which is extremely unfair, because in my opinion DCS is better than Axe 100 fold.

Everything else < Axe < DCS
Jesus christ. Like his already large ego needs to be inflated further.

What's 6'4", has big doofy hair, lives in Lametown USA, and is a big loser?

Christopher Mitchell, of course.

Thanks qazz, you've always been a firm supporter and invaluable beta-tester, which I appreciate. Although I hate how people tend to turn everything into an Omnimaga vs. Cemetech, "let's make Omnimaga get a POTY!", "let's see if Cemetech can earn a POTY!", that's exactly what this POTY was, sadly. It especially burns because while a certain ticalc.org staff member was in power at ticalc.org, almost none of my work was featured because of either real biases or biases that I am imagining, so this was the first time I had a program that was featured that actually even had a chance of winning the POTY; I would prefer it had lost due to its actual merits than because my site is unpopular and people voted along party lines.
Actually there is a second answer to that.

Also Nikky Southerland; have you seen the hair in his avatar? And Seattle is obviously more lame than New York. Wink
It's okay, because I don't feature programs that mention cults in their readmes. I think we all know who I'm talking about.

Is that why Tokens didn't get featured Sad
uh, cults? I dont wanna know
I voted for DCS...
So did I, of course
I say we all do the best we can in helping Kerm get new ideas, and especially bug and beta test the future DCS version. I for one and all up for it, and next year, he will win. Smile

Why, do you feel Doors CS still has a lot of bugs? I don't feel like there are a whole lot more DCS versions coming, both because of things like this, because it gets 50 downloads a week vs. MirageOS's 2000-3000 per week on ticalc.org, and it's really been basically a waste of a decade of my life. I appreciate you guys' support, it's just hard to fight against the world. :/
Kerm, you gotta remember, you catered to the developer.
MirageOS is hard wired into the silly users' brain.

Compound that with idiots who say that you need MirageOS to play any calc games and that explains it.
