Indeed, same here. I'm a little vague on what the practical applications of this technology could be, but I'm sure they'll come up with something. Oooh! With face blurring technology plus attribute randomization, you could truly anonymize the bystanders in Google Streetview!

Uh... take what Photoshop did for pictures and do it for videos? Make actors more attractive, etc...

Really? Is that something that necessary that it needs to be done quickly or real-time?

Does it need to be done quickly or in real-time? No, but this is going to be way cheaper than any alternative afaik (and I can't even think of any alternatives besides going frame by frame by hand). Not to mention the instant feedback is good for messing around with settings to find the optimal setup for a particular scene.
Maybe not completely, but you could eliminate the need for certain things like costumes and face sculpting. Maybe I'm getting a head, but it seems like it'd be pretty plausible. Changing someone's face to resemble a monster, without the need to sculpt a mask and glue it on someone's face (although, I will admit that some people don't need a mask or this fancy technology to accomplish this Laughing )
