Check this out; if the real game is anything like this trailer, it will be quite impressive.

Definitely looks like it would be a fun game to get my hands on Smile

I'm glad to see that it looks like the goal is more RPGish than Freebuild is, such that it shouldn't be a great competitor to Freebuild.
Agreed Smile

And with LEGO releasing a game, their marketing could have the potential to also attract a large number of new players to Freebuild since it's, well, free Smile
It's reached the front page of Reddit. How do we get this kind of advertising?

1) Create awesome content
2) Make awesome screenshots and video
3) Write slick writeup
4) Post on Digg, Engadget, Reddit, etc
5) ???
6) NON-PROFIT!
That looks awesome Smile I might actually pay to play it. It would be more interesting to see an actual gameplay demo though.

Nifty stuff, and a good read. Thanks for linking, elfprince. I've pretty much gotten accustomed with the idea that it's not a truly sandbox world by now, which is quite disappointing, but I understand their reasons a bit better. When I first heard about the game I remember wishing it would be like TBM/Blockland but MMO and width much, much, much larger persistent worlds. Ah well, I'll keep dreaming. Smile
Actually, my guess is for that Cemetechians who were willing to sign up for the "best friends" program we could do just that.

Oh, you're not limited to a certain number of bricks with the "best friends" thing? My reading of it was that either way you have to earn bricks instead of having any kind of sandbox mode.
Oh, I think that's true, but at least that way you don't have to have your builds moderated.
