lets see if this works...
Are you even bothering to read what I write?

YES yes i am i right clicked on the ipcs, copied image location, and posted them here. idk whats wrong... my computer cant load picassa or any other image loader that you guys suggested for some reason, ill email them.
Are you absolutely positive? If I go to a picture page on my Facebook profile the URL in the address bar is:

Code:
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=11963537&id=528210205&ref=fbx_album

(which looks like what you're posting, and won't work unless you're my Facebook friend) but if I right-click the picture and select Copy image address I get

Code:
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs458.ash1/25170_10150167162095206_528210205_11963537_1927675_n.jpg

which will work whether you're my friend or not. As you can see, the two URLs look completely different to eachother. If using IE, you can retrieve the image URL by right-clicking, going into Properties and copying the full URL from the Address (URL) field.

Why can't you use TinyPic? That's pretty idiot-proof.

Including http://www.tiny.com or http://img.removedfromgame.com or http://imageshack.us? By the way, since one can click on a Facebook photo to advance to the next one, I think you right-clicked and chose Copy Link Location rather than Copy Image Location.
ok ill try the copy image address

alot of fuss over a few pictures geez Razz
I like your TI-83+ stand-in. Laughing So this looks pretty solid to me; I see no obvious problems with soldering, plug size, splicing, etc.
yeah i know thats why im still scratching my head... >:/ thanks for the picture edit, too Kerm. Im obviously pretty new sorry about filling a page with instructions on how to post pictures hehehe... <:`)

No worries, at least through your and our perseverance we finally got it to work. Smile Now you know how to post pictures more easily in the future, right?

Sure, I think that would be a good idea! For example, you know about the Go to the New Posts link, right? I think beginners sometimes don't know about that. Actually, I've heard people say that it took them a while to figure out how to register; do you think that that is true?
It might be... i had a little trouble, the [register] button next to the login boxes didnt really look like a botton at all... :/

Well, it's a link, not a *button, but I get your point. Smile Thanks. So getting back on topic, you're still having trouble using your link cable for some point, correct?
yep still have problems >_<

I can't figure out wherein the problem could lie. Am I correct that you have verified:

1) continuity tip to tip, ring to ring, and base to base
2) that the wires are connected in the proper order
3) that each plug seats properly in both sockets
4) That the TI-83+ does not have a faulty jack, ie, try with the two 84s to which you have access
correct.

1)tip-tip, ring-ring, base-base.
2)wires have been checked multiple times; in correct order.
3) seated all the way in the sockets; yeah, ive pushed them in harder while trying to link, nada.
4) i HAVe actually tried to link 2 84's, nothing worked.

-note: sometimes, a 'ERROR IN XMIT' message comes up simultaneously on BOTH calcs, a sign of progress? >:/
Here's a question: have you checked for NON-continuity between things that SHOULDN'T be connected? like tip-[ring,base], ring-[tip,base], base-[tip,ring]?
well... maybe my soldering might touch other areas, is that what your saying? theres one spot thats close but im sure it cant be... it cant... it... cant?

ugh- denile is a river in africa Razz
You could try what I suggested in this post.

Yeah, I think that's definitely what he should do. And the word is "denial", not "denile". Razz
