Last March, Cemetech administrators Christopher "Kerm Martian" Mitchell and Shaun "Merthsoft" McFall attended Texas Instruments' T^3 2013 conference. We spent three days exploring TI's technology and pedagogy, including working with the TI-83 Plus/TI-84 Plus family, the TI-Nspire, and the TI-Nspire Apps for iPad. We met TI's TI-Nspire spokescientist, Mayim Bialik, and Venkatesh Chari of Orbit Research and Ken Perry of APH showed off the TI-84 Plus Orion calculator for the blind. Christopher gave a talk about calculator programming, "Teaching Beginner Programming Concepts with the TI-83 Plus/TI-84 Plus Graphing Calculator". You can read about all of our experiences in Shaun's excellent T^3 postmortem summary.

We are excited to be returning to T^3 2014 in March 2014, to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada. Christopher will be reprieving his talk, and we anticipate that administrators Jon "Jonimus" Sturm and/or Shaun may be joining Christopher at the conference to help learn more about STEM pedagogy with TI calculators and report on the conference here on Cemetech. We've heard that we'll get to interview some exciting figures and celebrities at the conference, and you'll be able to get all the details here. Keep your ears open for more information about the conference soon!

Newsflash: nobody cares.
This sounds pretty interesting. If normal people are able to attend, I am actually considering it, as Las Vegas is a mere 5-6 hour drive from where I love.
I'd be interested to read of any transcripts from interviews with other developers. Please keep us posted.
Great !
I'll see you there again then Very Happy

This time, I'll be an (actual) official speaker Razz (Advanced Nspire-Lua programming)

Normal people can attend, and it's actually cheaper for students ($50 if you're a college student: http://education.ti.com/en/us/professional-development/t3-las%20vegas ).

It's more teachers than developers, although we did get to meet Pat Milheron and John Powers and hear about all kinds of fascinating things.

Awesome, and congratulations. Smile I hope that both our talks are very well-attended.
What happens in Vegas WILL NOT stay in Vegas. Can't wait to hear what happens this time.

Yep, at least as far as T^3 is concerned. I'm sure we'll do our best to not get into too much other trouble, but no guarantees. Wink I'm particularly looking forward to interviewing teachers about the TI-84+CSE and the TI-Nspire Apps for iPad, now that they've had a chance to spend quite a few months with the calculators in their classrooms.
