On a side note, even the guys at the IPCC are starting to admit that the increasing intensity of the sun's output is probably playing a significant roll in climate change. Caused a bit of a ruckus at this years International Earth Science Olympiad.
I have no problem with the theory being questioned with new evidence, that's how science works. My problem is with people blindly refuting it *without* real evidence.

I don't know that we can; I don't even think the Tea Party itself can. As far as I understand it, it's an attempt to (compromise?) conservative Republican values and push for (reforms?), but I'm exceedingly vague on the details and the precise ideology. -
