now, I also found out the differences between the two

I have some old prgms (DOS prgms actually) and would like to know how to access command.com on win7

What sort of programs are these? Some DOS programs will work fine under Windows Vista or Windows 7, some won't. Vista removed the legacy video mode support, so programs using these modes (including full-screen text modes) won't work. In addition, 64-bit operating systems don't support 16-bit executables.

Indeed, I used DOSBox to run DevPac8x until I wrote BinPac8x to replace it. It's a nifty little program.
