Hey. I'm a freshman (:/) in high school and currently taking Honors Algebra 2. I recently ordered a TI84PCE and am excited to use this forum!
Welcome to Cemetech! I am also a freshman, although I'm taking geometry. I think you will find this forum a very helpful and friendly environment. The TI84PCE is a great calculator from what I've heard about it.
Hello! I am a sophomore in high school and I just got a nice blue TI-84 Plus CE! I heard this calculator is good for many things, like using images, large storage, and it's capable of playing colored games at a great speed. I want to learn how to make some assembly games but I only know how to code in batch and very little C++. I hope to learn eventually!

I'd start with Asm in 28 days. It's Z80 yes, but you'll need to learn that, to get to eZ80, which is the new processor for the TI-84+CE. Hope you have fun here at Cemetech.

Neat! I'll do the tutorial when I have the time.

Great! To let you know, the CE also accepts C code. If you would like information on that, just ask.
Indeed, welcome to Cemetech, Xgen! You have two options if you want to code programs at assembly-speeds, and those are C, and ASM, like Sean mentioned. If I may say so, C is much easier to learn, and there are little to no slowdowns compared to assembly, so I suggest checking that out more, or as much as ASM.
Also feel free to create a help topic, there are tons of people here who are willing to help!
Hello All,
I am an office worker who has an M.A. in Education and a B.A. in Geography, both from Villanova University. Eventually I'd want to pursue another graduate degree, but in the hard sciences. I feel I have an average grasp of mathematics and am slowly teaching myself the math subjects that I didn't take as a student so that I am more qualified to actually pursue my dreams. One possible career I'd really enjoy would be something related to astronomy.
It so happens that I am also interested in programming languages, and, while using my old TI-83 Plus in my quest to learn advanced math subjects, I thought it would be fun to learn about TI-BASIC as well. As of this post I am still a neophyte when it comes to actual programming experience and am currently reading
Programming the TI-83 Plus/TI-84 Plus as a starting point.
I'm excited to be a member of this community!

I would start with TI-Basic, after that, I would use shells, and maybe ICE.
Finally, assembly. I also want to learn z80 assembly! (but you must learn ez80 assembly for the CE)
Doing games in basic is funny, and not so much diffucult.
P.D. Welcome to everyone, this is a great place to exercise the mind.

Thank you so much!
Any particular reason my first account with exactly 3 completely innocuous posts was deleted? I'm assuming it was over saying "C and C++ are basically the same", which is about the most bizarre reason I've ever seen for an instaban. Particularly considering it's widely agreed to be true by %95 of people who have used both(as I have).
I do remember old flame wars on Gamedev over C vs C++(circa 2003 or so), but I thought people had chilled out. Apparently not. Wonder whether it was a C or a C++ zealot I made mad.
This may not be it, but it appears that you posted as a guest, you will want to be a full forum member to post.
I have never seen, nor heard of anyone's posts and account deleted because of saying what they think on this forum, so it probably is something to do with posting as a guest.

First of all, I would like to say welcome to the forums. I noticed earlier that your nickname showed up as guests when I saw your C++ vs C post and was confused, because not only Cemetech admins usually never deletes an account without deleting the posts attached to it (I think they never delete accounts anyway, they just desactivate them), but they also rarely delete accounts at all, even if a ban occurs (see SirCmpwn). For a while I thought that Cemetech staff somehow decided to enable guest posting on a trial basis.
I think it was an accident. They probably were deleting spambot posts and caught your account by accident in the process. I know on CW there is a tool to check the userlist for spambots, which I often run on 0-post users, and it sometimes catch legit users, so as a result I always double-check before hitting the reject button.
Thank you DJ
I guess so. I've had accounts on other forums that are never activated. And one or two deleted with no posts. Never had one *with* a post deleted before.
I did make all three posts within about an hour of registering, so maybe I tripped an over activity filter or something. I didn't post any links, so not sure what kind of spam it thought I was.

Sorry about that! Your account got caught in the middle of a group of immature schoolchildren who were spamming our chat system, and I erroneously removed it. Apologies for the inconvenience, and welcome [back] to Cemetech.
Hi! I'm a freshman in high school sitting in the middle of health class as I type this. I've programmed on calculators before, but I've forgotten over the summer. I mainly programmed in TI-BASIC and a little (as in, a "Hello World" program) in Axe. I never got into learning about libraries because I could never figure how to use them, but I guess now would be the time to start learning since this is basically a fresh start.
Hi! Nice to meet you, Keeegs.
So what kind of calculator do you have? And are you interested in learning other languages?
I have an 84+ and a CSE. I'd like to learn other languages like Python, C, C++, etc., but whenever I try to learn I'll end up taking a break and forgetting to come back to it until a few months later.
Ok. I can't help you with those languages, but there's a lot of other people that can. Good luck with those!
By the way, I like your signature.
Haha, thanks
