the link continues to work as a toggle. if we change it, it should instead be "toggle new files" or something like that.

The regex for the youtube tag doesn't match https URLs. This is mildly irritating since YouTube defaults to https.

When a page is requested using HTTPS, embedded youtube videos will fail to load as they are always served over HTTP. Link on the page is fine, just not the embedded player.

That's odd, considering the YouTube player has been updated on July 16th. YouTube videos/pages are now HTTPS and the old player failed to work. We updated the code for it and you now have access to fullscreen as well; quote the post above yours and see.

Hmm, I chose a bad set of wording there. By "served over HTTP", I meant that cemetech was using an HTTP URL for the player, not an HTTPS one.

For keeping HTTPS on chrome, I recommend something like HTTPS Everywhere.

Cemetech is www.cemetech.net, not cemetech.net. You can visit https://www.cemetech.net for the secure site. Smile

Legit (stupid) question. What's the difference between www and non www?Also, maybe it's how Safari works on OS X but I type in cemetech.net and it gets changed to www.cemetech.net. I type in https://www.cemetech.net and it shows up as www.cemetech.net in the URL bar.

Relatedly, the "Bug report" why would Cemetech load the non HTTP version of a youtube video when youtube explicitly sends out HTTPS links? I type in youtube.com and I get redirected to https://youtube.com. So why would the server strip out the https in updated YouTube videos? (The example provided in the post is the Cemetech xTreme video above, which is HTTPS)

I tried changing my signature multiple times, and it's always the same posts that properly update to reflect it.

EDIT: Also this post properly displays it. I don't know anything of the internals of the forums, but it feels like there's some old post data being kept around that isn't being updated.

There is a checkbox that prevents your signature from being shown in particular posts, if you un-check it. Presumably you un-checked the checkbox for those posts.

Wow, I can't believe I didn't notice that checkbox before. I think that at some point I unchecked it, and I assume that sets the default state for later posts. Does it default to 'on' if you use the quick-reply box? Because if that's the case, that'd explain why some posts have it but others don't.

In your profile you can set it to default to on or off for your posts. It sounds like you might have it set off by default? As you correctly deduced, it defaults to on for Quick Reply posts.

Bug report: the mobile theme blows chunks.
Certain characters don't appear correctly in the fourms and the user pages.
They show up as black diamonds with ?'s in them, just like what merth posted about his post on nikky's birthday.
