I realize you are picking on a stereotype, but the model of faith found in Biblical texts is one based on evidence and reason, and reason+revelation were commonly accepted within Christianity as twin paths to understanding truth up until Luther and Calvin.

I am an athiest, and I believe things that have logical evidence. I accept the theory of evolution, and I'm unsure about the big bang. I consider myself ignorant to the beginnings of the universe, if there was a beginning, and I don't attempt to explain it, because I cannot possibly do so.

frankly I think religion is just idiotic, I find it so ridiculous for the followers of a religion that claims to condemn killing, to go around and kill every person in sight with half a brain... (centuries ago of course )

Here are the facts, nothing is known about how we came to be, every religion has the same "base" if you look deep enough, science proves the earth is older then any religious text. Therefore believe what you want, but as of right now, science is slowly closing the gap between religion and logical explanations.
Just stay open minded and all will be ok.

@qazz42, don't even get me started about the ancient Catholic church... they are the source of most of our societal problems today. The modern Catholic church is great, though, they are super charitable and provide inspiration and happiness to millions.

I will get this straight now, I am not very religious. I am of the Catholic religion, but I do not practice it regulatory. I believe in science fully, except I believe that there is SOME kind of greater being, but I don't know what.

Who is to say that we are not all artificial AI in some program? The way I see it, this would bridge the gap between science and the Bible.

I just like to keep my head open for new ideas.
