Since roughly the second week of August 2008, I've been unable to access everyone's favorite QDB website, bash.org. Has anyone else found it to be down, or does anyone know what's going on with them?
Yeah, Bash has been down for quite a while. I haven't the slightest clue as to why they're down though.

Indeed. Someone I just spoke to spoke to a friend who's friend said they're working on getting it back up. KermMartian wrote:

*UPDATE*
I should have been more clear before, but here are the hosting details:
Bash is too big to be on a shared server.
We have a number of machines already, but are open to either colocating them or using a supplied machine.
Bandwidth is substantial but not ridiculous, remember we have no images, almost entirely text.
A trade or agreement can be made, but we try to:
A) keep the site free and clear of advertising clutter.
B) Not have substantial upkeep, as this is a hobby run by donated time and effort.
So, in effect, we offer some links to the host for their services, but no huge blocks of ads.
Thank you to everyone that has offered services thus far, there are too many to even respond to
and we genuinely appreciate the support from this great community.
-----------
We'll be back up in a few days.

Awesome to know
Sucks that it's still down, though, and I hope they're able to get it back up soon.
As am I... they said "a few days" but its been a little bit longer then that, lol...
Eh, good luck to them, and I hope they get it up soon!

Took them almost two months, but they're back.

Hurray! The only clue that they've given is this: Took them almost two months, but they're back.

We're back, thanks to Idologic, more details to follow.
I guess we'll learn more soon, then, but it's great to have them back once more. Hooray for efficient procrastination! KermMartian wrote:

Thank God its back though, lol, I was beginning to run out of things to entertain myself when there wasn't anything else to do.

Meh, http://www.xkcdb.com/ is better anyway

False, I was looking through some of those and they're far inferior to the contents of bash.org. KermMartian wrote:

Lies. XKCDB dominates Bash.org. Its not even close. Bash has a few gems here and there, XKCDB is full of awesomeness. You probably just don't get the references, and the intellectual humor is above you
