Cemetech is all about learning, teaching, creating, and making, but that doesn't stop us from having fun too. Cemetech currently hosts two game servers: a Minecraft server and an Unreal Tournament 2004 server. Both have been running for a surprisingly long period: our Minecraft server was launched on the last day of 2013, and remains active almost 13 years later. The current iteration of our Minecraft server is a PvE, survival environment that values players who build creative, visually or mechanically impressive buildings, and collaborate with kindness and compassion with our other players. Beyond the main world with long-lived cities, we have a rotating resource world, our "Abba" world, that switches world types and is regenerated with a new seed twice a week. We are also resurrecting our Museum World, with 16 years of builds made by Cemetechians, available soon. We host a Dynmap where you can see the current worlds even if you don't have Minecraft handy.

We run on the Bukkit-compatible Paper server, and that means we typically lag a little bit behind vanilla Minecraft version releases. Thanks to hard work by administrator LittleMoonBeam and others, the server is now upgraded to Minecraft 26.2. As you may know, Minecraft recently switched from its longstanding 1.x version numbering schema to a year-based version, hence the apparently jump past 25 major versions from 1 to 26! This upgrade brings exciting new blocks like Cinnabar and Sulfur, new mobs, and a new Sulfur Cave biome. Our players are already exploring these new features in the server's Abba world, so we encourage you to join us today!

In addition, we have an upcoming seasonal event. Way back in 2017, Cemetech administrator tifreak8x created a Halloween Mansion special event map full of puzzles, traps, and legendary loot. We ran the map for a few years, but we haven't offered it in quite some time. Now, with new changes and new loot, we expect it to be an exciting challenge for players new and old. We recommend playing with a group of other players (not least to grab your items when you die, as you only get one shot at it!), so start gathering your friends today. We'll be launching the event in October: you can find more details and the rules in the attached topic.

You start the Halloween Mansion event in a storm-wracked village... but little can you expect just how fraught your journey will become...
Thank you, Kerm, for doing an article on this!

As the person who made the map, there are a few rules and things to know about before committing to this event!

Rules (as of 9/5/26, may be modified by deployment dates)
1) Bring armor, weapons, and items you feel comfortable to lose. Elytra, enderpearls, and boats are prohibited. Only 1 totem allowed.
2) PVP Will get you removed from the event. The whole point is to work together to solve puzzles and get to the reward!
3) Once a team has completed the mansion, do NOT share your experiences with others until after Halloween. Spoiling this event for others will result in a 30 day ban.
4) No asking TIFreak for help, you are on your own, and I'm going to ignore such requests.
5) If you die, that's it. If your teammates can recover your things, that's between you and them

This event has taken up to 3 hours to complete in the past, so make sure the entirety of your team can play for the entire duration.

Please keep in mind once you join the map and things are good to go, you will be set to adventure mode, we'll give you that clue so you can plan around that.

As mentioned by Kerm, teaming up is the way to win. You need at minimum 3 players to complete all aspects of this event to the very end. You can have a max of 4 people on your team.

If there are additional questions, please feel free to ask, I'll answer what I can!
Amazing. I've been asking every year if this was coming back.
Years ago, (unless I'm remembering incorrectly), potions and prize items with more-than-max enchantments (such as the same Prot 5 armor you get from this event) were disallowed. Does that remain the case?
I recently bought java so I probably will join this server thanks!
Friendly reminder that we will be doing the Halloween Mansion events soon! We'll need to know who all is grouping up (3-4 peoples) and what weekend will be best for your group to go through. My best times will be on Saturday or Sunday evenings, usually after 4pm EST.

Remember, this will take a few hours to get through everything, and once you die, that's it. You'll be in Adventure Mode, so you cannot place any form of chests, shulkers, or ender chests.

I ask you use Vanilla graphic settings for this event, no brightening mods. There is a certain atmosphere I tried to achieve with the Mansion. I don't mind if you use something like optifine that lets a torch glow in your hand to illuminate things around for you specifically.

Excited for you guys to get to check this event out!
