So I found out about the contest about a week late(the new message icon didn't show) an spent another week doing game design and wasting time time on other sprite libs because none of them were compatible with design and now I have the the character sprites and some environment sprites.
The general design is to fight your way through a 4 room by 9 room ship to find the exit.
Since I hope to make this randomly generated, you may find your way blocked by a crate, in which case you should find the shop and buy dynamite. If you can't get to the shop, you must explore 75% of the floor and go back to the first room to crawl through the ducts to the shop.
I still need to animate the player and make a basic thug as well as two other enemies, the animation shouldn't be too hard and the thug will be a stretched recolor of the player.
Oh and the storyline is:
Xhang-Khan has kidnapped Ping-Jan! Chang-Ken must not let this pass! After stowing away in the hold he must fight his way to the top of Xhang-Khans battleship and take him out.
I'm currently making the shipping crates out of primitives and the wooden crates as sprites, I'm probably going to make the floor details as simple as they can be without being ugly so I can get to the fun part.
