I highly doubt this will kill CE projects, the community and projects built around it are huge, and it will probably be very hard to get games on. As for DoorsEvo, we don't have DoorsCE yet ☹️
doorsCE when
I'm Working on my own project called KodyKode OS Evo compatible with the CE and the Evo (maybe)
If KodyKode OS Evo is written in the same way CE programs are wrote, it will definitely not be compatible with the Evo (the evo probably won't support ASM). Also, the excessive advertising for your project is not needed.
Question about the future of TI-BASIC. Will some programs not be compatible because of the removal of the graph screen boarder?

Assuming TI-BASIC still writes to the graphscreen the same way, some programs will certainly need to be adjusted to look correct on the TI-84 Evo, especially when they set a "friendly" window (e.g. Xmin = 0, Xmax = 264, Ymax = 0, YMin = -164).
I should certainly hope that at least some version of TI-BASIC will be continued (and if not, I hope we get a bigger improvement than we got with Nspire BASIC.). Considering that they're still calling it an 84, I'm assuming it still uses some form of Z80 (or something emulating it) and thus hopefully still uses TI-BASIC. I'm sure it'll experience the same kind of changes from, for example, the TI 83 to 84 Plus, CE, 86, etc.
Assembly-wise, I sure hope it uses something better than an eZ80 if it's getting that big of a hardware upgrade. I also hope it's jailbreakable, though, because it would be awful if we got a fairly small speed upgrade in exchange for a complete removal of Assembly and C.

There is a way to run it.
Remember bz80 ? bz80 was a project in TI basic that could emulate simple ez80 programs.
I think we could update it for the Evo use that.
Or, I could make an ARM-based program that could emulate the ez80 side of the CE maybe?
Man, we're all gonna feel like such clowns when it turns out this was all just a crazy elaborate hoax by womp 👀
No, it is definitely not a hoax. Maybe that picture of the back of a CE box that has the evo's specs on it could be fake, but that was a real, official amazon page for the product (some people already pre-ordered it!)
Do we even have a side view of it. I wanna know for sure its a type C wire. If it is a type C that would be huge.

We don't, but the back of the box confirmed that it has a USB-C port, and it seems logical that accessories like the CBL/CBR will now also be USB-C.

But what if womp, like, hacked TI's Amazon account and stole everyone's credit card information?
That was a joke, by the way.
We know you're all excited about the Evo (we are too!), unfortunately there was no announcement at the T3 conference. I have however been able to get the following feedback from a conversation with TI:

While we prefer to share product news on our timeline, we're excited about what's coming and will provide official details through our established channels soon...
It's not much but I guess it's the first official confirmation that something new is coming pretty soon!
YES! After ~10 years, we've waited long enough. 🙂
... Could be though just newly coloured TI-84+ CE ...
Why should the brand new TI 84 Evo released in *2026* have worse specs for the same price as the TI Nspire CX II, released 7 years ago? If they're going to upgrade the processor to an arm processor, why not put in a better one? Or at least lower the price from 160??

Meh, I'll just do what I did with the CE Python and buy it used a semester after launch at half price.

It's also TI, who has a monopoly an American graphing calculators, and 95% of users probably don't know what a "clock speed" or even "ARM CPU" is, so TI can just say "It's our newest and greatest calculator!", and tons of students and schools will buy it.

Cool, now I can finally stop being distracted by my calculator's Internet access!
It's odd that TI-BASIC support hasn't been confirmed yet. Maybe TI's going all-in on Python starting with the Evo.
