I think the title speaks for itself.
I highly recommend Dark Reader as a means to dark-mode-ify any site that doesn't have its own dark mode.
Yeah, but what about the users who use public devices? We can't just download and install random scripts and addons if we don't own the device, not only is it unacceptable, it's illegal.
An option to switch the modes maybe? My guess is that you could use a little javascript to check the browser color scheme and then have that value switch between two premade color themes.
It wouldn't be nearly as time consuming as rebuilding the website from scratch, plus it would be compatible with nearly every browser.

Plus , Ipheonix's theme dosen't work on the latest (or at least the version of chrome my Linux came installed with) anyways. I say add the feature natively instead of with scripts. : )
I think a sitewide dark-mode could be very good. That or just letting users choose to link their own CSS stylesheet to be used when they open the website.

Yeah, I have been toying with html and javascript and I figure that literally just having a button on the top-left or something would work just fine. All it would need to do is set the colors used in the website, and when it’s disabled it would set them back.
I’ve looked through the website code and all of the colors, used and unused, are in one style list. However the images used would have to be changed manually which would prove tedious, although just turning them grayscale and lowering their brightness would do the trick.
I know that the google chrome developer tools allows you to find the “reverse contrast” of colors in html or something like that, so that would help.
