As you can see, in the red circles, I've noticed some dust on my display.
Do you reckon I can remove these by opening the calc? If so is it a straightforward teardown or is it complicated? (You know, I'd like to be informed before opening a 150 dollar calculator that's out of warranty)
Having done this a couple of years ago, it's a relatively straightforward process. After taking out all of the screws, the hard part is separating the two halves of the case. Once you get a bit of an opening, prop it up with a toothpick or plastic spudger and keep going at it slowly. Fortunately, there aren't any cables going between the front and back halves.
Once inside, the LCD is attached along the bottom edge, just flip it over by the top edge and use a microfiber cloth or very soft brush to get the dust out.
