Why is the black ti 84 plus ce not entirely black?
As though eradicating fun shall not be done, games that may be played shall be played
because they used up all of their good design points on the ti-84 plus c silver edition and had none left over for the ti-84 plus ce.

okay but it's probably to make the 84 plus ce stand out from the other calculators they currently sell. see all of the other colour variants of this calculator as well.

But couldn't they have made 2 versions one with a black backplate like the gold ones and one partially black?

maybe it's meant to be like the white bit they added to the top of the ti-84 plus.

that said, if you're willing to put in a lot -- and I mean a LOT -- of effort, you can swap two calculators' back shells. but it's probably not worth it considering how hard it is to separate the two pieces.

I've done this a lot. It's not easy but it's definitely doable. It just takes some determination and a few screwdrivers to get the back shell off. It's super easy to put the shell on thankfully.

Is there a way to get it without spending 100 on a new calc?

You could try to find a used or broken calculator on eBay.
