The TI-Nspire Navigator Wireless Cradle (TINAVWC) and TI-Nspire CX Navigator AP (TINAVAP3) are listed as incompatible, however in my testing they do work together provided you set it up right.
The cradles work fine on both the classic Nspires and the Nspire CX. They do not work on the Nspire CX II, as the CX II does not recognize the presence of the cradle nor does it try to draw power from it.
The access point will accept the cradles if you set the access point to operate on 2.4 GHz and manually add the cradle IDs to the device list in Navigator Network Manager.
The TI Nspire CX Premium Teacher Software will not allow classic Nspires to log in; regardless of the class status, they will throw a "Class not started" error. Classic Nspires can still connect to the network, however.
Cradles simply contain a battery and a Wi-Fi chipset, there's not a lot of fancy stuff inside; the differences are in what feature sets the Wi-Fi chipset supports. Cradles also power the calculator using the cradle's battery, and the calculator can work without any batteries installed provided the cradle is charged.
