I know this probably sounds kinda weird but I have the new Python edition of the Ti-84 Plus CE and while I love the calculator and all of the PRGMs people have developed, I am not too keen on the Python. It wasn't really the reason I purchased the device, but I did think it had potential to be a nice feature. There just isn't enough apps yet and I can understand that because it is new and the interface/performace of the Python app itself leaves a lot to be desired.
Can I delete the Python app from the calculator like any other app without any issues? I am concerned that there is some sort of a system connection to the app that could harm uses down the road. I could just leave it on but it's the largest app and I'd rather have space for BASIC apps and data if I could. I am assuming that if I can delete it just like any other app, that I'd be able to install it back on down the road if things change.
Thank you so much for your help. Love the community, long time lurker finally engaging.
I strongly recommend not removing system apps of any kind, from past experience with 84 models.
If you’re not using Python there’s no need to delete it; just ignore it.
It should be safe to remove all of the apps that come with the CE, if you're not using them. It's always possible to reinstall the apps so long as you have space.
While the OS does call into the app in the prgm menu, it checks to make sure that the app actually exists first. Most of the actual functionality of interacting with the Python coprocessor is implemented in the OS, rather than the app - the app is just the interface for the program editor/shell and the backend implementations for the Python modules that TI provides. So, delete away.

Thank you for your quick reply. I've removed the app and it is running fine. The call up in the prgm menu went exactly as expected given the protocol you described here-- it opens exactly like a non-Python device.

I've removed it and seems to be working fine. In addition to my explanation in the original post, given that I have a lot of BASIC programs on the device, from an aesthetics standpoint I like the prgm menu just going straight to the BASIC ones.
If it backfires I'll be sure to let you know.
