Has there ever been any use for encoding strings in the form of a number? I mean for example like the string “ !’#$” being compressed into say, 0102030405, when using ASCII with the space character is at index 1. Maybe some other method, but you get the idea.
I’m asking this because I use the above format a lot, and wanted to know if it had a name or something.
I just remembered that BasicNote (CE) probably uses a form of string encoding , but it doesn’t seem to be the same format I use.
