Thanks for doing that, Alex; that needed to be done quite a few posts ago.
A member requested an unlock, but I'm going to deny that for now unless someone can demonstrate a real, constructive reason for this to be reopened.
I agree there, this one last thing needs to be said I think.
Netham45 (if I recall), had joined and became active here first before at Omnimaga. He did not start out on a great path with us, and when he did become better, we did not notice it as we fit him to a mind set we had set to him.

then why you and jpez didnt you immediately told him he wasnt welcome here, literally i mean? Even vote for a ban if you want. I think instead of harrasing someone because you dont want him here is not the best way. Either tell him directly what he does that you dont like, or ask him to leave, and if you choose second option preferably do it in private as well so he gets your message easier. Better make things as clear as possible. I also find quite ironic that he seemed quite welcomed as Omnimaga staff by most people, i guess its just that its different and sensitive people who got life problems are more welcome here
We DID ban him, TWICE, he STILL came back. If you notice, his "harassment" usually came when he failed to do something he should have, be it done research first, read readme's, etc... I believe ult dev none too subtly tried to get him to read the tutorials thread, but as far as I can tell, he never did. Continual lack of effort to truly learn on his part is not something that makes up a well respected person - be it here, online, or offline in the "real world".
Also, I know I sent him a PM telling him that he is better off leaving, but mostly when he would PM me something like "F**k you!" or "I HATE YOU". His attitude all around was VERY immature.
But I'm not sure what your first 'sentence' is trying to say - I had no problems with him at first, and I try to be respectful of every new member. It was his posts and lack of maturity that drove me to make some of the comments that I did, and I am not at all sorry for any of them.
@rivereye: his "better" was still very poor. Look at his final words, he still brings up jpez, who hasn't said a word to him since the 2nd banning of netham - he isn't exactly being a model of maturity. Just look at the title of this thread and his first post if you need more examples of that
Excellent points, I'd say. We did indeed give him ample forced opportunities to leave, and he persisted in returning not once but twice after temporary bans. However, as usual, I shall try to stay aloof. I will also leave this open again in case Rivereye, Netham, XlibMan, or anyone else cares to respond to Kllrnohj's post.
true, Netham is a bit more mature over at Omnimaga than he is here, but he showed a different side of himself here.
@xlibman, if I may say, make sure you know the entire situation before you jump to conclusions.

I totally agree with both points. Netham has a record of being marginally helpful and constructive, but when we delve deeper into his actions in a community, we realize that he can be very abrasive towards others and demands that others respect him without much basis other than (from what I've observed) his overinflated ego.
Xlibman seems to join up and protest against actions on a board without really researching the matter throughly. I suspect that it mainly consists of someone complaining on #omnimaga; he then gets their side of the story without doing much research, and then posts against the actions of the "institution." It's pretty much his modus operandi.

Sorry if you meant to just put emphasis on some words though.
Second of all glad you tried to tell him he wasnt welcome, I didn't knew that, sorry. At least you tried so if he still comes and doesn't like it then he should leave.
As for his reply via PM this was immature indeed, and any similar behaviour on Omnimaga would result in him being demoted from staff if he ever did and worse punishement if he would continues. I doubt he will do it if he really respect me and people at Omnimaga.
As rivereye said Netham has been more mature at Omnimaga in overall indeed, especially since the last 2-3 weeks.
The rest is a bit off topic but to conclude this I have nothing against netham45, and contrary to the rumors I do NOT hate jpez and Kllrnohj personally. I am sorry if it seems this way. I understand I went very far with the last petition and the recent spam and I am sorry for this. Understand though it usually go with my mood and in depressive states when I see some similar stuff happenings I get upset very fast, especially since I tend to be protective a lot toward people. Right now I am in rather good mood and I wasn't before, which is why it took so long before this apology got out. I personally was angry because jpez harassed netham (and back in the days BPC), and Kllrnohj replies to posts in overall seemed kinda aggressive and it personally make me freak out but I had nothing else against them. Maybe I would get along very well with those person if it wasn't for that and if we discussed about this nicely. I will leave too if you want me too though and I understand, as I caused lot of trouble over here. Sorry again
I would like to know if something I said is not clear or need to be rephrased. I have written this in a language that I do not speak at home so yeah.

No caps lock there, that was the good ol' shift key 😛 No, but seriously, that was just for emphasis (hence only some words were like that 🙄 )

Ever consider writing your reply, saving it in a text doc or something, and coming back a couple hours (or a day or two), and re-read it to make certain thats what you are trying to say? I often use that little "Priview" button down there for posts like these, and I strongly encourage everyone to.

If I can address the reason netham has stated as his rational for leaving, I would like to show him that people here were merely having fun. Although I did not take part in said jokes, I interpreted them as light-hearted humor.
Therefore, I would like to propose an experiment. I will take a very embarrassing picture of myself (I haven't come up with an idea yet, if anyone has any good ones let me know) tomorrow, and post it in a humor topic. Then, I will invite one and all to rip all they want. Heck, I'll even throw in some lines.
What I want to show is that this community (Cemetech) does not hate you, in fact, I would have taken the comments as them finally accepting you (most of them) and it being sort of a hazing. We are just frustrated that you refuse to follow any of our suggestions to learn more, and continue to post either in topics you don't understand or asking us to explain what we have given you urls containing. We have given you the books, don't ask us to read them to you.
@netham: If you see what I see, than I for one would be happy to see you return and start becoming a more mature and knowledgeable member. All we ask is that you look into our suggestions in tutorials or stop asking us to spoon feed you information. I'm stretching out a hand here as many of my fellow members haven't (which surprises me). You can take me up on this offer as I am going out on a limb here, or you can remain immature and away from the site.
Chipmaster, that's an excellent idea. I think the reason that many people have not been reaching out is that Netham reacted so negatively to what seemed to me, as you say, lighthearted, friendly joking indicating Netham had begun to gain acceptance among us. I hope it works out.
true, when people first join, they are there, but when we can talk about a person from one topic to another like we did here, you are a true member I think.
Definitely, I agree. I'd certainly consider certain members "accepted", almost analogous to my real-life "friends", whereas others would be similar to people I know in passing but not personally, y'know?
definatly, when I am programming and get stuck, one of the first things I think of is how I would ask a specific person on it (like PHP is Kerm or Alex, RPG stuff is usually xlibman, that kind of thing).
I think he may have taken the jokes personal in the pic thread. I dunno if everyone meant to joke, but on my IRC channel he posted his pic several times and I think rivereye posted it on the forums. On irc ppl found the pic funny (which was prbly meant to be that way I guess considering it was an halloween costume), on forums there wasn't much posts though because most was said on IRC

*grins evily* 😎 This will be goooood.... hehe... 😉
Not sure about everyone else, but I was definitely just joking around in that thread. Given the subject of the thread (aka, his picture), I'm surprised he took that so seriously.... meh, everyone needs to be able to laugh at themselves
@Kerm: how much longer till i get accepted?
@all

😁 Now there's a scary picture if I've ever seen one. 😁 Why does your printer have exposed gears?

😕 How is that being accepted if he's frustrating and an idiot and we bash him for it?
