Heh, I'd rather make the world happy than haveacalc. Ah, Model Congress, that was a relatively fun endeavor.
Sadly my school doesn't have a debate team/class...
That would be a perfect opportunity for you to form one, wouldn't it? You should try and see if you can; I know I enjoyed being part of the debate club.

I just meant that if North Korea's gonna try to blow up the world with nukes, right now is the most convenient time for me. Good Idea Besides, I feel kinda safe. Who wants to blow up Kansas?

No, you didn't. I challenge that statement! Razz

I did indeed enjoy being on the debate team. In order to assess this claim, let's examine three main areas of analysis:

+ First, we can look at the academic prestige the association earned me
+ Next, we'll explore the socialization that the club allowed me to engage in
+ Finally, we can examine the current events knowledged the activity imbued in me.

Let's move to my first area of analysis and review how the debate club earned me academic prestige...
You're currently in Cooper Union; a college no one heard about until you told us it was a top college Razz

3. Cooper Union (NY) 4.0
United States Military Academy (NY)* 4.0
United States Naval Academy (MD)* 4.0
You can get that info right here: http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/brief/topprogs_nophd_brief.php
The keywords are "whose highest degree is a bachelor's or master's:" almost all of the major engineering schools offer doctorates.

Exactly; we didn't know about it untill you told us about it & its standing on US News Razz
Oh, and the electrical engineering is actually second in the nation:
http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/brief/enns06_brief.php
That's because it's a specialty school; so it's #2 for an electronics engineering specialty school Razz (in other words it's not ranked against general colleges; but it's still a good college)
That is incorrect. It has every type of engineering. Its electrical engineering department is ranked second of all undergraduate EE departments in the nation.
That is incorrect.

U.S. News ranking: Unranked Specialty School–Engineering

http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/brief/eng_brief.php

Specialty schools are ranked separate from general colleges; so it's not #2 for the EE department in the nation.
Shock Not at all. Look, it's not that hard:

Cooper Union Engineering School: 3rd in nation
Cooper Union Enginnering School - Electrical Engineering Dept: 2nd in nation
Here's your link:
http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/brief/topprogs_nophd_brief.php
(3rd in nation for engineering colleges who don't offer doctorates)

http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/brief/enns06_brief.php
(At schools whose highest degree is a bachelor's or master's)

And here's mine:
http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/brief/eng_brief.php
(3rd for unranked specialty colleges)

So we're both right...and we're both wrong...it all depends on what categories we're looking at.
It says that because we also have art and architecture schools, which are (as far as I know) unranked.
mebby we could develop the technology to launch a missle that follows the nuclear missile and nets it, requiring no pilot, except the one that might shoot the missle, and the net EMP's any detonating device (I dunno if that would really work) which would then parachute down to any pre planned nuke catching ship or something. it could happen....
First of all... NO NECRO POSTING

second of all...

We already have technology to shoot them down (its kinda like a giant ray gun, but cooler =P )

Actually his was borderline OK, because it actually added something (albeit just a little)

his idea was a net to catch them so they don't explode. Because blowing up a nuke in the sky is just as bad, if not worse, than blowing one up on the ground Wink
