hi y’all, i’m very new to this so i’m this so i’m not sure what i’m doing. i’m trying to play oregon trail on my ti-84 plus ce but anytime i try it just gives a syntax error. in case it’s important my os is 5.1. what can i do?
Impossible to say without knowing what program it is you're actually trying to run and what you're doing to try to run it. Is it OldNewTimer's version? What did you send to your calculator and how are you trying to run it?

Its an ICE program and you're running a pre-5.3 OS...
I suspect you aren't using the Asm( token.
You have to specify that its an asm program like this: Asm(prgmOREGON
Alternatively, you could just update to OS 5.3.0. There are no downsides to updating from 5.1.X to 5.3.0, just make sure you don't update beyond that.

yes it is that version, and what i sent to my calculator was the two files in the zip i downloaded. however i tried a couple of other programs and eventually figured out/fixed the issue. i didn't realize i had to put asm( before lol but i got it now.

yes that was the issue, i ended up figuring it out

You can install a shell to make the process easier. Many users on Cemetech have YouTube channels and have tutorials on how to install shells. Some are commandblockguy, TIny_Hacker, TLM (TheLastMillenial), etc... Or you can just ask someone on Cemetech, the Cemetech Discord, and other related YouTube channels, forums, and Discord servers.
