Hello everyone!

Gradually getting through the intense research, DOC reading part of learning to code a calculator hah and decided I’m going to try learn ICE and make an ASCII RPG if possible, but decided to open this topic as a kind of all in one dev/help request thread hope that’s okay and in the right category?

A few questions directly related to ICE first:

+How similar to C is it? Not learned C but saw a tutorial online refer to it as ICE C...
+Can I use call/lbl in place of functions since they don’t seem to be built in? By extension, is there a way to have multiple ICE files linked to one to make some pseudo class type thing?
+What’s best way to save data? I think APPVARS but I need to do a bit more research as to how pointers work and how to not brick my calculator!
+Finally does ICE/TI84+CE actually support ASCII... just thought of that and if so how do I find ASCII on the calc, is it done through codes?

There will be more, hoping there’s still ICE coders around hah but worth a shot!

Okay hi sorry to double post but didn’t want to start a new thread but got quite a serious issue with ICE and wasn’t sure who to contact really.

In short when I create a file oncalc then compile it it’s fine and works correctly, but if I compile and then press RUN in the compiler it resets my RAM and deletes the file, even if I recompile it also deletes that old one from the archive.

Am I missing something here? Currently bypassing by just not using the RUN button but a bit worrying that it does that as my program works fine if I don’t run from the compiler.

Try using an updated version of ICE. This is a bug from an old version that has been patched.
Version 2.2.0 is the latest if I remember correctly
