I'd going to be attempting to solder a connection to the TI 84 I/O port which has a a tip pin, ring pin, and ground. I was just wondering if anybody knows which one is which so that I don't get confused?

I believe the left one which is covered by the black tape is the ground but I am not positive about that
If you have a multimeter with continuity, you can use it with a cord plugged in to see what pin goes to what part of the connector.
My guess is that the back one is sleeve, right is tip and left is ring. Easiest way to know is to check with though while a cable is plugged in.
