Even if you somehow could, the 15MHz z80 in the calculators it is designed for struggles to emulate games at playable speeds even with large amounts of frame skipping. The 6MHz z80 in the TI-83+ would have no chance of emulating games at playable speeds.

Well, TI-Boy runs a very specific set of games at a playable speed, but yes, lots of frameskip. While the BE would indeed seem unrealistic for this type of thing.
Your best option is to look for ports of game that are rewritten specifically for the device. There are plenty of quality Axe games out there.
