Sooo....


It's been done with the CSE, and most (if not all) of the monochrome calculators. I know there isn't really a need to, but..... Why not overclock the CE?

And how would such a thing be done?

Presumably, this could be done the same way its been done with previous calculators, by replacing a resistor on the board, generally, with a potentiometer, to allow you to test and figure out what the ideal voltage is, and also set it back to normal when you're done playing around. However, I don't really see the use in overclocking the CE, you can get up to almost 30% increase by changing the wait states, which can be done with only software, so breaking into your calc to try to get a tiny bit more seems futile. It's not like you are going to get any considerable results. (unless you're calcmax of course...)

I agree with mr womp womp, it's possible but not necessarily practical with the calculator already at the speed it's at. I can tell you that an overclocked CSE as far as it will go before crashing is still not nearly as fast as a CE off the shelf. But if you are willing to do it then I say go ahead, it would be interesting to see a speed comparison.
