hello all of cemetech,

As you all know, calculator sites these days are quite strict on programs content

however, pre 2002, ticalc.org had very lax restrictions on programs
while most of the 'edgy' stuff was rubbish, some of these programs are considered real classics
in the scene (primarily the drugwars clones)

while i personally was able to get all of the 83+ programs and most of the 83 ones, i was only able to get a few 89s and a couple (although there werent many to begin with) ti82s, and thats all, nothing else
as archive.org does not have many backed up, including the allfiles.zip's!

i am keeping these in a folder on my computer, and i would like info on where they could be or if anyone
has them

to clarify, i am NOT asking that these be uploaded to cemetech, i am simply asking for info, or a link to
some of these, they are some of the most entertaining and classic ti games around!

after a while, i will upload this collection to archive.org

thank you
I previously grabbed everything from ticalc.org and shared the results, so it doesn't sound like you've got anything really new? Admittedly the WARCs aren't the most convenient format for most users to consume, but all the data is there.
Archive.org has image of ticalc.org CD https://archive.org/details/ticalc-org-cd which is one part of calc history, basically clone of all that ticalc contained in 2001. Including all those drugwar clones which were some reason for that CD to be recalled and now only old contributors like me own the physical copy of that CD.

This is from 2014 correct?
this stuff was removed in late 2001

ive already got a copy of that cd and noticed 2 things

1. most of the games are missing, i can only find a few semi-appropriate drugwar clones i already have on there, either that cd has been edited, or it had them removed (next point), or it never had them (ticalc.org news claims that the cd only contain a selection of games aka whovever agreed to let them put it on)
2. the cd on archive.org claims to be "revision b", perhaps the revisions removed the drugwars clones?
you claim to own the cd, if it does in fact have the drugwar clones, could you upload it to an archive site/cloud storage, you might have a different cd to the one on there

seriously, open up an archive of the site from the era and the cd, cd looks like a ghost town

I made that image from my CD that was uploaded by chronomex to archive.org, so nothing would change in that case. When we had discussions of these CDs previously with people owning those CDs, no one of us have seen revision A, so might be that there isn't even that kind of CD existing.

Also I feel like you are bit annoyed by our answers, try to cheer up, we are only trying to help.

ur acc giving me lots of info i didnt know before as well

no revision a? interesting
do u know what was on that cd that caused the whole mess then (tistory claims it was ascii porn but other claim drugwars, nowhere to be found)
thanks for helping anw, u seem to know lots of ogs in calcs so do u know of anyone who may have 2000-2001 archive of ticalc?
Sorry,
I don't really know who might have, you could ask from ticalc staff if they have that old backups anywhere, I think there is still some people active, otherwise might be one more part of history long forgotten and gone.

Usually people are waking up too late when things like this happen.

yeah alr
ill send some stuff off to old staff
might b a bit too late for some of this unfortunately

a bit of hope tho, i started this last year and there was pretty much nothing on there, but the ti83+ allfiles.zip and a bunch of 83 sutff (also added the 83 allfiles.zip but they messed up the upload so it doesnt download) was added VERY recently to archive.org, so someone has stuff still

thx anw

Sure, I don't have anything that wasn't online recently. I'm curious how you've gotten things that aren't currently available, since the only sensible way I can imagine would be grabbing them from the Wayback Machine in which case it seems like a stretch to claim they're not preserved. Granted they might not be very discoverable, but still available.
