Ok so if you haven't checked ticalc.org yet, the 2014 Program of the Year award has begun! Obviously, the first poll is for the TI-83+/84+ category, and assuming POTY works the same way as previous years, the survey will probably run for 1 week. Then the TI-84+CSE category will follow, then the TI-Nspire.

Anyway, here are the TI-83+/84+ programs participating this year:

Spaze Invaders, by JamesV: http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/459/45929.html

I must say that I'm particularly impressed that every featured TI-84+CSE program in 2014 was a Cemetech project. Way to go, guys! I personally will be giving myself an ego vote with Jezzball. Wink
Awesome. Quite some good programs in there. My vote went to JezzBall because out of the 7 it's the one I play the most on my calc (even though I suck at it). Spaze Invaders would come next.
As happy as I am with how Dino Puzzle turned out (and sad that Block Dude didn't get featured Sad), JezzBall really was my favorite of those listed. It was really just a lot of fun! It gets my vote as well, though Solitaire is a close second, with Puzzle Frenzy not far behind.
I liked Spaze quite a bit, but again JezzBall is my favorite of the list too. It seems to have quite a good chance of winning, judging by the fact everyone posting here voted for it...
Guys, I think you should all just vote for Spaze Invaders.

What?! I'm not biased...

No seriously though, I think JezzBall is the clear top contender Smile DrDnar's Solitaire games are up there for me too, especially because I do enjoy a good Freecall game!

Haha, I think that's a great idea, because you did a superb job on Spaze Invaders. It seems true to both the original computer game and Movax's port. I wish I had more votes; there are too many excellent games there.

That's kind of you to say; I appreciate it. Smile
Nspire voting is up!

SimCitx (by Link): http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/460/46069.html

My vote went to nKaruga
I updated your post with the authors and ticalc.org links for each of those projects, pimath. Thanks for posting. Personally, for the combination of technical achievement and originality, I was most impressed by Crafti, nKaruga, and SimCitx. I suspect that many people will vote for Crafti, because Minecraft, so I'm tempted to throw a bone to SimCitx.
Okay thanks for that edit. I personally did not play SimCitx, but I played the others, and I voted for nKaruga mainly because it runs extremely well on the monochrome models like my own, whereas crafti suffers extreme lag at times.
It was hard to choose for me indeed. My vote went for Crafti because I spent the most time playing it due to the creativity and it's very impressive considering the Nspire limitations. nKaruga was pretty much next in my favorite lists.
OK so it's 2005 all over again: One of the POTY poll is tied! This time it's the 84+CSE poll with Solitaire and JezzBall. So now you got to vote again Razz

Thanks for reminding me that 2005 had a run-off poll; I had completely forgotten about that. I'm honored even that Jezzball was popular enough to require a final tie-breaker, and congratulations to DrDnar for the success of Solitaire & Freecell. Good luck, and may the best man win!
Well I do remember 2005 Sad

Go go Kerm!
Good luck, and may the results be ever in your favor! Smile

Many thanks! I hope it doesn't come to DrDnar and I threatening to eat poison berries together, though. Smile

What if there was a second tie in a row? Shock
Does it seem like there will be? I'm mostly on vacation, so I haven't gotten a chance to see what the voting trends look like from the community members who aren't on the Cemetech forum or on #cemetech.
Most forums were quiet during the 84+CSE and Nspire voting rounds, probably due to finals, people finishing their Cemetech entries and Christmas celebrations, so those two polls didn't garner as much interest, but it seems like people were more in favor of JezzBall, while having a difficult time choosing between that game and Solitaire.

There was also the usual question that comes every year asking why is there no 68K round. Razz
