I might check out Cooper Union some weekend or this summer.
@Kllrnohj: I did, but I editted it like a second after I posted.
Heh, that's the danger when we're such forum addicts.

That is _amazing_. We need to multiplay that this afternoon.

Sure thing - its got a linux version
dude... that's awesome!
yeah, i'll try to be on that tonight!
I just released a new version of Tank Wars. This one has AI. Most of the bugs that were present in past versions have been eliminated, although a few still remain. I'm working on fixing the rest. I hope you guys enjoy it
Thanks again Kllrnohj for hosting this
Edit: Oh, and I thought you guys might want to know that my partner is working on a separate version using Direct X. So there's gonna be a 3d version, too, as long as he is able to do it.

updated: http://www.kllrnohj.com/cemetech/tanks/ - when we getting the source?
OpenGL is prefered to DirectX (cmon, lets get some cross-platform lovin here!)
This coming Monday I will be meeting with my partner. Hopefully then, I can convince him to go open source. Also, we will be able to add the work he did on the other weapons to make it much more functional.
I dunno about OpenGL. I think he already did a bunch of work making it in Direct X. Unless it's easy to convert, I doubt it will be in OpenGL.
What kind of ultimate multiplayer support do you have planned?
so when we getting an update? (or source!
)
Right now, we're in the process if integrating directX (mainly because the computers at school can no longer handle it). Right now, we have it done in directX in 2d, and we're working hard to make it 3d.
I probably won't be able to release a new version for a couple of weeks because this week is hell week--
two AP tests and SATs! I've been studying all weekend.
Edit: Sorry Kerm, I never got back to you there. My partner has experience in multiplayer games over the internet (I don't
, but I'm going to learn from him). So hopefully, this will turn into the new scorched3d (but with much worse graphics, gameplay, etc...
)
please please please please please make this OpenGL and not directx.
I hate to be mean, but I don't think we're going to.
I feel bad, but we've already put a ton of work into making it DirectX.
The source will be open (eventually) so if anyone wants to make an opengl version they can feel free to.
Sorry elfprince. Maybe you can get linux. I've heard that with WineX, you can run directX games on linux. And to all other mac users, sorry
Once I get Cemetech-0 up, maybe I'll add a dedicated server for this. I plan to have a dedicated blockland serv or two.

WineX is old, Cedega is its replacement. Its *nix capable, so it would work on a mac
however, this is sudo-emulation, and is a piss poor substitute.
OpenGL is better than DirectX anyway
What are the advatnages and disadvantages of each display library?

OpenGL is an open library that is cross platform
DirectX is owned by M$ and is windows only. It also requires users to install it
Both are/have:
Full hardware acceleration
Major games behind them
advanced graphical effects
In terms of 3d and quality, they are pretty much equal. Doom3, for example, is in OpenGL, whereas HL2 is in DirectX.
