I've been working on a snake game for the CSE for the past couple of days, figured I'd post it here.

Current features:
  • Snake moves/dies
  • Score counter
  • High scores are saved
  • Different food types
  • Diffferent wall collision modes

Here's a screenshot:

Requires DCSE.

Game details:
  • Board is 32x32
  • Runs in full (320x240) resolution
  • Red food increases score by 1
  • Purple increases score by 3
  • Gold increases score by 5
  • Use arrow keys to move and press the clear button to exit.
  • When wall collision is enabled, hitting a wall kills you. When disabled, you wrap around to the other side
Great job already on this; I see you added scores, food, and so on since you were working on this at HCWP. I am quite impressed by the responsiveness and speed that that screenshot shows, as well. What remains on your agenda before it is complete? Have you considered food that you should avoid and would decrease your score?
That's a good idea. What color might be good for poisonous food? I like red for the normal food since it's like an apple or something, but red could also be the bad food.

Red seems like an apple to me. Maybe something sickly-looking like a green or brownish?
Very fun! My favorite snake game on here so far! I suggest adding variable speeds, though--it's wicked fast. As for the berries, my snake game used blue as the poisonous ones, but I think a brownish might be good. Just make is different enough that those of use who are colorblind can tell Smile
