i think i'm going to dedicate my personal computer (2.2Ghz, 512 ram) for the next day or two to find the 1,000,000,000 digit of pi, then burn it to a cd and give it to my school as a fun little gift. how long do you think it will take, (using quick pi)

I'm now just trying to get to 200,000,000 with my main family computer (2.8ghz 1 gig ram)

Edit: using pifast now (http://numbers.computation.free.fr/Constants/title.html) due to the limitation of only 250,000,000 decimals of pi being able to be found with quick pi
I know 30 digits - does that count? Smile
i just decided to make a 50 million list for now, but then i printed it in a pdf, and it was small then the txt file Shocked but now im uploading it to cafepress as a joke kind of, its 18,308 pages, i guess it will cost a lot Smile but its 40 megs, so it might take a while
Wow... That's impressive Smile
So...what's the progress on this?

You necroposting loser, cut it out. Razz
My computer can calculate the square root of the first 1 billion integers in 215 seconds, beat that (wPrime)

Playing the Allison game, are we? Well then, my TI can calculate Jesus in 100 secs.

Uh, what? I didn't make that up, my computer really can calculate the square root of the first 1 billion integers in 215 seconds as per the wprime benchmark. Might want to google things you don't know next time, unless you want to continue to look like an idiot.

The benchmark:

My results:

I tried to get my wPrime stats to see how I could do against you, but sadly, the program gives error -214372blah under Windows 7, which appears to be a Win7 issue that prevents wPrime from running properly. :/

Try running it as administrator.

Tried with and without administrator, without compatibility mode and with every compatibility mode option. No dice.
