has anyone in this community EVER used the vampire code built into TBM, or known anyone who has? its making huge swaths of the TBG codebase significantly less readable, and I'd like to just eliminate it altogether.

yea-sayers and nay-sayers, post here.

Vampire feature fails hardcore. I had to look it up to even know what you were talking about, and I've played Blockland for close to 4 years.
that was pretty much my thoughts. there's an inordinate amount of barely readable code dealing with it, and I've never even seen a server that had a vampire-mode game in progress.
People don't use it because people don't know about it. It's actually a really cool gamemode, rivaling that of Retail's Zombie mod. Basically it makes one person a predator, and only the predator can score. The predator is invisible, and must collect bones to gain health. When someone kills the predator, they become the predator, and the process repeats. It's like the chicken game in Turok, if the chicken were a badass serial killing alien.

Sounds moderately interesting, but probably in the long run not the most popular TBG mode ever even if people know about it, so I vote for removal.
it would be much easier if someone chose to make it a mod, rather than making it integral to the game code. I need to remember to make a more friendly modding interface.
if it's giving you that much trouble then remove it, but yeah, save the code for a mod.
wait no, unless it's hurting something, leave it in. Part of it is a hack to keep players from picking up each others bones, and there may be other things the code does, as it's strewn throughout tbm's code, and theres no point in removing it if it makes more work to replace parts of it that affect the entire game.
