OK, I firmed up my roadmap for the next month and a third:
http://www.cemetech.net/doorscs/docs/roadmap112106.pdf

I should have all features implemented by December 1, then bugfixing begins. Any comments? Smile
What's the blue text say for CALCnet2?
"Need to debug with demo". I was having a few problems with TI-OS calls messing with my interrupt in the demo; I need to finish the debugging at some point in the 5.9 debug cycle.
yay, its almost out =D

It seems to me like it still doesn't work to well with basic games, but oh well Wink
.... huh? Can you show / describe / whatever what in the world you mean? Shock
BASIC programs run fine for me in it. You just have to... sort of... edit them. Like add a pause to the end of programs that end displaying something (like a score).
runprog++

also, pausing at the end of Basic programs would be quite nice....

also, HTML/PNG/whatever plox, pdf sucks
I just changed the BASIC parser to autopause if anything is left in TextShadow when execution finishes.
so ya dont forget:

ApplCl: yeah, a lot of stuff seems to be broken now....
11/22/2006 2:35:34 PM KermMartian: such as?
11/22/2006 2:36:46 PM ApplCl: restoring prefernces freezes the calc, ARCHIVING APPVAR message when changing a setting, enabling Cn2 seems to crash the calc still, and a Calcnet 2 is disabled message shows up if it isn't enabled....
11/22/2006 2:37:21 PM KermMartian: 1. Restoring preferences freezes: only because you had an old appvar that was -1 size
11/22/2006 2:37:39 PM KermMartian: 2. It's supposed to say archiving..., otherwise people get confused why the calc is paused
11/22/2006 2:37:48 PM KermMartian: 3. enabling Cn2 crash is already known
11/22/2006 2:38:00 PM KermMartian: 4. I said I _started_ the link menu, not finished it Smile
11/22/2006 2:38:23 PM ApplCl: yeah, but it never checked the backup to see if it was the correct version, still froze even after I deleted the backup, and could you make the message a little more discreet?
11/22/2006 2:38:34 PM ApplCl: like in a message box instead of blanking the screen
11/22/2006 2:38:42 PM KermMartian: it's not supposed to freeze...
11/22/2006 2:38:48 PM KermMartian: it's supposed to do a size check
11/22/2006 2:39:00 PM ApplCl: it size checks the current appvar, but not the backup
11/22/2006 2:39:22 PM ApplCl: and even after I got rid of the backup it froze after the next crash
11/22/2006 2:39:31 PM KermMartian: that's weird
11/22/2006 2:40:40 PM ApplCl: yeah....
11/22/2006 2:41:24 PM KermMartian: I'll fix the restoration thing, anyway
11/22/2006 2:42:10 PM ApplCl: and plz plz plz make the archiving message more discreet
11/22/2006 2:42:18 PM KermMartian: why?!
11/22/2006 2:42:26 PM ApplCl: whats the point of having a gui system you dont use....
11/22/2006 2:42:38 PM ApplCl: it wont add much size, and it will look way prettier
11/22/2006 2:42:43 PM KermMartian: queshtun myrk exclamashun myrk
11/22/2006 2:42:53 PM KermMartian: yeah yeah... Razz :S
11/22/2006 2:42:57 PM KermMartian: fine, I will
11/22/2006 2:43:33 PM ApplCl: dont make it anything you have to click, just a window that pops up and then goes away
11/22/2006 2:44:00 PM KermMartian: mhmm
11/22/2006 2:44:02 PM ApplCl: oh yeah, and only update the appvar if something has been changed
11/22/2006 2:44:07 PM KermMartian: duhhhhhhh
11/22/2006 2:44:16 PM ApplCl: it seems to be updating anyway...
11/22/2006 2:44:17 PM KermMartian: it already does that, oh sage Wink
11/22/2006 2:44:28 PM KermMartian: oh
11/22/2006 2:44:29 PM KermMartian: k then
11/22/2006 2:44:57 PM ApplCl: yeah, its archiving whether I change anything or not, just checked
11/22/2006 2:45:46 PM KermMartian: kk
11/22/2006 2:47:52 PM ApplCl: hmmmm, im assuming the sort code hasn't been added yet
11/22/2006 2:48:01 PM KermMartian: correct
11/22/2006 2:48:06 PM KermMartian: I'm waiting on Tari for that
11/22/2006 2:48:18 PM ApplCl: kk, in that case nothing else to complain about for now
oh yeah, acceleration is auto checked no matter what
Indeed it is. There's no setting to disable acceleration in the appvar, so unless people decide the user experience might actually be better without acceleration, I'm going to leave it that way.
why not just add it, some people may want it at the same speed all the time (we shall see though).

so change the acceleration rate Rolling Eyes

and just get rid of the checkbox....
Kerm said the checkbox doesn't work right now (read up)
he also said no reason to have it there, so if it doesn't do anything now, and it wont later, just get rid of it Wink

you can get rid of it speeding up by changing the acceleration rate to 0.
A few suggestions:
  1. I've noticed that the scroll bar on the side works if you click on the bottom portion or the little arrows below to scroll down, but must click on the arrows on top to scroll up and can't just click on the portion above the scroll bar.
  2. I've also noticed that it's kind of hard to read the text... Maybe change it so that there is a space in between each character. It might also help to put a box around the icons to make it easier to distinguish what's part of the icon and what isn't.
  3. Also, could you make it so that if you hover over an icon (after pressing [ALPHA]) that it will display what that icon is?
  4. Another problem I've noticed is that when you create a new folder and try to clear the name, it displays a character (when not suppose to, or incorrect). This also happens with a number of other buttons. There also isn't any shift key implementation yet it seems. There also isn't any way to stop creating a new folder, and will create a folder with no name even if you press [ENTER] with no name.
  5. It might also help if that when you 'right click' (aka press alpha) if you some how denoted that that item was selected. Either invert the video, draw a little icon in the corner, or even just box it. It would make it a lot easier to tell what has been selected.
  6. I would also suggest fixing the 'Mirage OS hidden program' problem by making an option to either display or don't display hidden programs and if they are displayed, display the correct character for these programs.
  7. When you press [ON], I don't know if you intended it to turn off the calculator (seems like you did), but there isn't any delay that will keep it from turning back on immediately. So unless you have extremely quick fingers and timing, you won't be able to turn off the calculator this way.
  8. What's that little Squigly bar next to the battery life indicator?

just a few suggestions to make Doors CS even better than it is now...
Thanks for the suggestions.

1. Yup, you're correct about this. No current fix is planned (although I may add a fix in the GUI tools)
2. The text doesn't fit with spaces between chars. No possible way to fix that for now. Sad
3. An excellent idea - possible 6.1 feature
4. Ooh, that's not cool. I've noticed the random-character thing, but not the empty-name problem. I'll check it out.
5. That's not a bad idea. I'll definitely consider adding it
6. Yup, that's on the to-do list. I'm waiting for Tari for the sorting stuff, then I'll release 5.9 Beta and start on the bugfixes
7. That's fixed in 5.9 Beta 1.
8. That's the RAM indicator
What's a ram indicator?
It graphically indicates how much of your RAM is free, like the battery meter but with memory instead of power.
where's Tari and whats he doing with our sorting code?
