You absolutely must include a place holder option like Save The Whales so that people are still within there comfort zone, when they switch from MOS to DCS.

I wouldn't see any real point to the custom cursor, though I guess if you enabled a custom cursor, it would look to see if there was that sprite stored in prgmNAME, and could store the value of that to the appvar, couldn't it??
That way, you could go through a "selection"...

If you are going to make a custom cursor option, it should be from within Doors itself, and not some other modifying program. Those can be such pains IMHO.
Fair enough, how about making the user put an 8x8 cursor and its 8x8 mask in say Pic0, then having a button in options that both copies that into the appvar and sets a flag to enable that cursor?
How about from the DSC Menu? --> Options --> Cursor Editor
