Please PLEASE realize that these are just artistic renderings, not actual screenies. Note the blue lines that indicate PicX turned into gifs by SC. Which of the window header styles do you prefer? Selectable?
The windows headers remind me of Windows XP. Be cool if there was a loading bar when you open Doors. Eh probably too much work.

Yea, I was thinking of a loading bar on top of the Doors CS icon and goin from 0-100% in like a sec. Like Mirage's Now Sorting.... Please Wait thing.

Kllrnohj: the only thing that might take a visible amount of time (perhaps as high as 3 second?!) would be joining a Cn2 network, if necessary. The way I'm trying to rework the protocol, it may not even be necessary to "join" per se.

It shouldn't join on startup, it should join when it is needed

Yeah, but I want it to be generally aware it a network is available or not so that it can greet other calculators it might meet while it's running: remember, it treats unit-to-unit connections as a 2-peer Cn2 connection.
