So there is a full speed NES emulator for the CE. There is also an 8086 emulator for the NES someone wrote to run ELKS Linux. You see where I am going with this. I think you know where I am going with this. :P
Somebody did that on the nes emulator in animal crossing for game cube
I heard about that. Still mine is kind of original cause I forgot about that one.
I believe it uses MMC5, which Famicalc does not support (yet). However, I'm willing to bet you'd run also into other problems. Still, worth a shot if MMC5 is eventually implemented!
