Yeah, mostly Mateo though

When did I ever say this. I have never said anything of the sort.

Like all the flipping time

I absolutely do not? What the heck are you even talking about. Stop putting words into my mouth, I have advocated for making a NES emulator for ages and even started building my own, I seriously have no idea what you are talking about. You are being rather rude and I don't take kindly to people saying things that are downright false.

The Mateo ragebait needs to stop.
And also is it possible to translate mapper 4 to mapper 1 easily
Mapper 4 support would be great. It would let people play games like SMB3 and homebrew games like FamiDash. I am not much of a coder, but mapper 4 support would add some cool new game support.
I was thinking abt Famidash cuz i have it on nspire
I only have FamiDash on a greyscale nspire, so the screen burn on it is pretty bad.
could you use tangrs mod on the rom and link it because I cant
hey zaalane, whats the RAM limit for famicalc? because i also want to run famidash[https://github.com/tfdsoft/famidash?tab=readme-ov-file] and i think it needs 769kb of ram to load
Either way, famidash is currently not supported (plz add mmc3 zaalane im begging you), and it could run on the original NES (2kb RAM + 2kb VRAM).
I've been on a bit of a break since things get busy during the holiday season, but I'll have some time between the major holidays to work a bit on things. 🙂 Also, there's about 3MB of archive space altogether on the calc(though only 150KB of RAM! Archive your files to get better performance in Famicalc!) so outside of big compilation ROMs just about everything fits.
Famidash base takes only ~750kb, which is of reasonable size. If you really, really, really, really wanted the full experience, you could download the all in one ROM, but that takes a whopping 2.25 MB Shock

yup im aware but does zaalane mean that famicalc can use 3154KB of RAM?(im probably wrong just asking)
He is talking about the amount of storage on the calculator, not the RAM usage. The calculator can store up to 3mb of programs or roms. There is only 165 KB of RAM on the 84+CE. FamiCalc will use a very limited amount of that.

What Zaalane is saying here is that you should store your generated NES ROMS in the archive, because there is 3mb, but only 150KB of storage for your ROMS if you do not archive them. Also, I have a question: Does Famicalc run ROMS through the archives, or does it load them into RAM, and then use them.

Famicalc runs programs directly from the archive. No need to put them in RAM. Famicalc *does* use any unused RAM to store extra recompiled code, so having more free will make your games run smoother.
hey is there any way to change the button mapping for the emulator? something more akin to tiboyce, i.e., 2nd being b, mode being a, etc? I tried compiling an edited version of the code myself, but that went nowhere. Thank you 🙂
Thank you so much for the MMC3 update! Having SMB3 and Kirby's Adventure on my calculator is so surreal.
There's an MMC3 update? Since when? Why did I not know about this?

The answer is 1) This is very recent, only over the last week or so, and 2) I forgot 😛

New release time! v0.2

https://github.com/Zaalan3/Famicalc/releases

When I try running famidash, I just get a white screen and a RAM reset, any idea why?
i heard famidash needs like a lot of ram
