I needed to do a number of three-wire thread measurements for some thread pitch diameter measurements at work, and figured it would be easier (or at least more interesting) to automate some of the calculations for this task. Rather than keep this to myself, I'll share it with the world once it's ready. Right now, it is running on TI-92, but will be ported to TI-89 once I have a release ready.
Right now it supports:
Eventually it will:
The program is quite crude in its current form, but once refined to general usability and the mathematics under the hood verified it'll be released.
Right now it supports:
- Pitch diameter calculation for UN, metric, Acme, straight pipe, sharp V, Whitworth, and British threads
- Picks the best wire size automagically from a list of standard wire sizes
- Two-click result
Eventually it will:
- Tell whether a pitch diameter is in-spec
- Output other diameters for a nominal thread form
- Support custom wire sizes
- Metric inputs
- Not force the calculator into DEG mode
- Save settings between runs
