Hi,
I was looking through the TI graphing calculator revisions docs (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1N_2tBusqjVzefKb4impi-VwdM-RgOSIMmXBemJymxA0/edit?gid=0#gid=0) trying to ID my TI-92, and I have a lot of questions. All of the factories for the TI-92 are in Italy, and have an id of I (signifying it is made in Italy based on all of the other ones labeled I) then their Date Stamps, then under that they say "made in Italy". On the other hand, mine has I-0596, but then under that it says made in Taiwan, which is odd. In addition, the location where the Factory, Datestamp and Serial number normally is branded in to the plastic is instead a sticker. Here is an image,
Thanks for any infromation that you can provide on this odd occurrence.
No, "I" does not mean Italy, it means Inventec, which has a factory in Taiwan.
The ones made in Italy were made in Rieti Cittaducale, and the serial numbers for those do not feature any factory codes (historically, TI used "RCI" in serial numbers, but that's not the case for TI-92s).
In the spreadsheet, we used a "*", along with a comment to denote this.

Here is an example of a TI-92 from Italy.
Ah, thank you, this would explain part of the confusion, however, I am still unsure why the 92 has a sticker instead of the normal plastic as seen above

All TI-92s produced in Italy had engraved serial numbers (including prototypes which were also made there)
All TI-92s produced in Taiwan except for the first few hundred (which were rev D) had stickers for their serial numbers.
Got it, thanks for clearing it up, I have officially now identified my TI-92. Smile
