When using certain applications which provide text feedback, the text format seems mashed together vertically. Layered maybe a better description. Does anyone know why this happens? How to circumvent this from happening? I have experienced this with a variety of programs for calculus and chemistry. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
What calculator are you using, and what calculator are the programs you're using designed for?

The monochrome calculators (e.g. the non-CE TI-84 Plus) had a smaller screen than the TI-84 Plus CE does, so the font height was also smaller. Programs designed for the monochrome calculators still run on the CE, but text that formed separate lines on the monochrome calculators might not be far enough apart to do so on the CE as well.

If that's the issue, you can use a tool like CEPORT to modify the program to compensate for the difference in display size.
I am using a TI-84 Plus CE calculator. Using programs such as SciMath, Stoichy, Stoic, different calculus apps.

Yeah, those all look like programs designed for the monochrome calculators. I'd recommend downloading programs designed for the CE when possible (there are many of them in our archives), and using CEPORT when a CE version is unavailable.
For a quick-and-dirty fix, you can simply edit the program each such program in question to double the Y coordinate of each Text() command (its first argument), e.g. Text(6,1,"HELLO would become Text(12,1,"HELLO. This won't work for everything, though, especially when programs use Pt-On/Off/Change, lines, circles, etc. in addition to text.
