I'm trying to find either a cable (with built in converter) or a converter box that can convert AV to HDMI AND HDMI to AV, but i can't seem to find one... i don't know if anything like this even exists
I think the real question is *why* you need it to go both ways? You can find converter boxes on amazon from $8-$15. Do not buy cables; those do not handle protocol conversions.
The only reason why i want to go both ways is so i can try playing my switch on this old CRT TV that only has AV input Razz

That's one way not both ways.... Razz
Yes, what you are looking for exists and is pretty ubiquitous.
Use an HDMI to VGA converter (they're everywhere) then use this schematic. I've done it with my Xbox and it works fine. Make sure to use a screen with a resolution above 320x240.

Code:
int resolution=320*240;
if (resolution>(320*240))
{System.out.print("resolution is not greater than 320x240");}
else
{System.out.print("resolution is greater than 320x240");}

It appears 320x240 is not above 320x240. Laughing
