Is it just a bug, or are we actually at 100003493 members?

This came up the other day and I fell for it too. That's actually a member, not the amount of members we have online. That number is just above where it says "There are W users online: X Members, Y Guests and Z bots.

On that note, proper bug. https://www.cemetech.net/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=100003493 does not work despite usernames being an applicable variable for the URL, see https://www.cemetech.net/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=Alex
Not really a bug report; but just going to throw this link out there... Cemetech ranks rather low in these areas; perhaps some optimization is in order Smile

'View advanced test results' at the bottom of the page is very informative Razz
To be fair, 94/100 for mobile optimization isn't bad. Smile Were there some specific aspects of those test results that particularly stood out to you as needing addressing?

Oh just the speeds on mobile and desktop Razz Everything can be improved! Very Happy
I see 54/100 But, looks like we're getting dinged on things that are outside our control.

Such as:
Quote:
Optimize images
Properly formatting and compressing images can save many bytes of data.
Optimize the following images to reduce their size by 237KiB (79% reduction).
Compressing and resizing https://i.redd.it/v7m2kdqg6wwy.png could save 204.3KiB (96% reduction).

We have no control over that. When I post images from Imgur I use their naming convention to resize them; such as adding a lower case L before the image extension to get a large thumbnail, "s" to get a small square thumbnail. etc etc.

Granted, the reddit image is from a news article and I *should* reupload that somewhere else and can do the image resize optimization then.

But we can't retroactively go back and reupload the photos somewhere so we can resize them. It's something we're going to live with. I feel like this tool is better suited for a personal webpage more than it is for a community forum.
Very nice bug report:
when searching for "SourceCoder 2.5" it finds some results. First it finds 36 results for me, which fits in 4 pages. Going to the second page => same result. However, when going to page 3, it says 23 results, which results in 3 pages, and thus I can't go to page 4 from page 3. Any reasons why?
Search isn't ran via phpBB anymore, it's done through Google. Which is why it's the only part of the site with ads. So, you'd have better luck asking Google. :/
The pm links in for example the Mincraft Mods group don't work, they seem to refer to a user's id instead of their name, which the pm page requires.

https://www.cemetech.net/forum/groupcp.php?g=14699

For example

https://www.cemetech.net/forum/privmsg.php?mode=post&u=352
instead of
https://www.cemetech.net/forum/privmsg.php?mode=post&u=Alex
So after I was recommended to switch from Ti-Connect to SourceCoder3 to program in ICE, I ran into a few problems.

Such as:

I figured out that if i typed something in ice such as this:

Code:
 det(18,"ICE Compiler.",0,0

It exported as:

Code:
 det(18,"ICE Comπler.",0,0

(Please note I AM using the ICE setting on SourceCoder)

As you can see, "pi" is being interpreted as the math symbol pi, which displays REALLY WEIRD on an ICE program. Something is also being interpreted wrong whenever I type the word "Ammunition".

Is there anyway to fix this? Anyone else running into this same problem?

Thanks,

-OldNewTimer
Use the \ character to escape to tokens. In your case, use \pi. Smile
Nah, more like p\i, not sure if \pi works, same to amm\unition Wink

wow... i wish i knew about this during CC18... Razz
SAX is looking strange, Linux, Firefox, no idea which versions Razz

If I recall correctly, that SAX issue has been reported on Firefox before.
SAX didn't show the messages where something said my name in a /me message:

https://m.imgur.com/gallery/sd5IX
Can't replicate. Perhaps it's related to the (default/standard) mobile browser on Samsung J3 you say you have.
SAX popup thing went wonky, it notified me of a message something like 10 times for the same message. It was on a tab I wasn't using at the time though. I'm using Edge.

I made a post in another tab, then I went back to this tab and saw this.

I reported this in SAX (again, in a different tab) and Mateo responded and it notified me of it several more times.
I believe that is a known bug, caused (my best guess) by idling too long.

Reloading the page is the current best way of fixing it Smile
Search pages can show up as results for search pages.
Actually, the search is pretty terrible in general. Try searching for "ranks". You end up finding a search for all posts by PT_, but not the topic I was looking for ("Ranks? how to get them and how much to the next rank"). I literally had to copy the exact name into the search bar before I found it. Also, the search shows 4 pages, but 3 and 4 show a "no results" page.
