I'm a high school student in the Netherlands and I have a Casio fx-CG20 and I've programmed little tools in Casio basic. I know a bit about c++, c# and Casio basic (obviously).
I met this site about half an hour after I received my calculator to download some games and I had to do it for some other people on my school too. I really liked the setup of this site so I came back every now and then.

I'm now busy with a project but I need help...

That's why I registered.

I want to let two calculators communicate with each other using the 3pin cable using Casio basic. It has some options under I/O like send and receive. Open comports and close and that kind of stuff. But it keeps saying com error or just doesn't do anything.

This is my first post.

I like calculators. I've been visiting this site as a guest for a while, but only now did I make an account.
I am a homeschooled high school student living in Michigan. I'll be going into 12th grade next summer, and am saving college for the 2018-19 school year.

I found the site through googling programs, and found it interesting.
I like math.

i'm a friend of a prisoner on death row whose settlement from a lawsuit w/the state is allowing him to own a TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculator which i'm to purchase. before it's sent to him he's requested to have as much info uploaded on it as possible, including all the assembly games and the current OS 5.2. he also requested a 3-D graphing app and a chess app but wasn't sure if these 2 apps were compatible w/the 84-CE or would crash the calculator. are they available and, if so, where can i find them?

i'm completely devoid/terrified of understanding tech info and was hoping to call upon my "home-visit computer guy" to download/upgrade the newly-purchased calc BEFORE it's sent to my friend in prison... once he gets it he has no access to a computer and can only replace it if it's "lost/stolen/broken" which will be an incredible hassle for him, so we're trying to optimize whatever info is possible to upload.

he also asked for a "calculus made easy" app and "differential equations made easy" app to be uploaded but TI tells me that these apps are found on the "made easy" website and are NOT compatible with the 84-CE. do you have any suggestions of similar apps that ARE compatible and where i can find them?

there's not much one can do to escape death row but this little device will provide my friend w/hours of challenging thinking. i believe he already has taught himself how to use the graphing calc on a college level.

i deeply thank anyone who can advise me (in language i can understand) of the mentioned apps or any other apps a highly intelligent/creative/science/fantasy-loving person would like... tamara

Assembly games can be found here: https://www.cemetech.net/programs/index.php?mode=folder&path=/84pce/asm/games/. I believe the only 3D graphing app is for the CSE and CE chess is still in development. Hope someone else can help you more.
EDIT: I believe ChessCE is now pending approval for the archives and so should be available soon.

You said that if the calculator resets/will be broken, he has no change to replace it? Then I HIGHLY recommend Cesium, which has an option to save RAM before a RAM crash, and that would save many struggles. That said, I would say to install as many programs on it as possible, you have *enough* RAM and you can even place programs in the Archive, which can be run from Cesium as well. Hope this helps!

Hello again. Now using my tab8010, its a lot easier to use than my smallscreen phone. I was born 8/6/1975 my name is Scott. My grandparents bought me an Amstrad CPC464 with a colour screen one christmas when i was 8 years old, since then i have been obsessed with computers, i started out as most people do typing in from magazines, such as Amstrad Action. Since then i have used a variety of machines, i broke 10 spectrums when i was17, bought a batch of ten, the joystick interface was always crashing and fusing out the machines, i have had an atari 800xl, risc pc600, acorn a3010, epson hx20, epson px4, husky hunter 16, various programmable calculators. Mostly i have been interested in basic, i have used Mintoris, X11, Android Basic (ns-ware), brandy bbc basic, Amstrad nc200 bbc basic, with z80 assembler. And now after all of these things i am using a Ti82 Stats. Which compared to my first CPC the ti82 is quite something...

Well, I have a Ti-84+ CSE and I joined because I need some questions answered and I wanted to learn new things such as BASIC and Asm.

I'm a US based game developer that specializes in platformers and other 2D games like mazes, races, etc. I started using BASIC in, get this, KINDERGARTEN, and I put some of my old programs on to my recently and am still addicted and amazed by them I am currently working on a very compact platformer for the TI84+ CE, but it is still on the 'draw'ing board (bad pun intended), and there's not much to see. I taught myself Java, HTML, C#, C++, and Python. Most of my experience is in Java, but I am comfortable/fluent in all of them.

Edit, nearly 6 months and 427 posts later: this was the start of something huge. I've changed a lot since I wrote this post, and it gives me some nostalgia. I almost forgot about this post! It's almost exactly a year from my last edit (13 July 2018) and I'm at 1380 posts and 97000-ish words. I've drifted away from AI a bit. I'm much more interested in frontend web dev and lower-level languages. I've started helping out writing the Cemetech Projects of the Month posts, which is a lot of fun. It's interesting to see my writing improve with my posts. I suppose that happens when you do nearly 2 years of anything consistently. I've started taking up eZ80 Assembly, just for grins and chuckles, and I wrote my first actual program recently.

My interest in these calculators, is that (especially the TI-82), they are what I may or may not misterm "military spec".

I've been sleepless in highschool reading the 83 SDK docs, as well as C++... crap my dad printed at work. Without so much IQ to understand polymorphism and inheritance. Bla maybe my book sucked. I managed Pythagorean and quadratic assembly apps, and an some win32 eh... (who cares if I nop'd the WinRAR nag and such more)


Decade later. I'm a drop out. Don't bother.

I've acquired 5x TI-82 from an eBay lot, so cheap. wow.... can only silver link on old G3. (help?)
