I have recently acquired an old ti-83+ from a friend and I want to put some programs on it but unfortunately I do not have a 2.5mm calc to calc cable. What I do have is one 2.5mm jack and a plug I embedded into the body of the calculator. This plug is wired into the ti-83's plug so is is basically another 2.5mm plug for the calculator. (right?) I found merthsoft's diagram of what I think is a calc to calc circuit but I am not experienced with circuit logic so I don't really know.

Can somebody help me construct a link cable for my calculator?[/img]
It's a very simple cable; it simply connects tip to tip, ring to ring, and ground to ground. It sounds to me like you need another 2.5mm stereo plug to complete your link cable, though.
Thanks a lot. I managed to fix up my homemade link and it works great. I was really surprised that the cable was so simple electrically, especially since some of those cables have 2 thick areas right after the plugs. Thanks for explaining it! Very Happy Now I managed to link 3 calculators together!

This is what I meant by thicker portions

What I ended up making.
