So some imbecile tripped over the power cord for my 30GB HD that has all my stuff from the past couple of years backed up, and now I can't boot it in Windows. I'm thinking chkdsk; any other suggestions?
chkdsk is worh a try, i guess

or you could try some full on data recovery progs like GetDataBack from runtime.org - but they usually cost money...
I saw that one at runtime.org...I wonder if there are similar freeware progs?

yes, but they generally suck.

for data recovery, you can either bite the bullet for not having backups, or fork over $100...(there are other means, of course Evil or Very Mad )
Erm, ixnay on $100. Lemme start with chkdsk.
Sue the bastard.
Ixnay on that. Razz
