Reurposing laptop touchpad?

Because I have a USB mouse, I never use my laptop's touchpad. Are there any programs I could get (or write) that would allow me to use my touchpad as a scroll wheel, drawing tablet, or other stuff?
If it's a multitouch touchpad, you can probably find a driver on the manufacturer's website that lets you use two-finger scrolling, etc. I'm not aware of any drivers that allow you to use it as a drawing tablet, although I've never tried searching for any.
